DAYLIGHT TRAGEDY: Lady Falls Victim to Ritualist at Popular Clemson Hotel in Megida, Ayobo As Oba-Elect HRM Abdul Azeez Adegboyega Olaleye Salam Vows on Security Reforms

What began as an ordinary day in the peaceful Megida community ended in horror, as tragedy struck in broad daylight when a young lady was found gruesomely murdered at the widely known Clemson Hotel, located in the heart of Megida, Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA.

Eyewitnesses and initial police reports reveal that the lady fell victim to a suspected ritualist who had checked into the hotel earlier. The lifeless body of the woman was discovered in a blood soaked scene, with indications pointing to a ritual killing, an act that has left the community in deep shock.

In a swift and emphatic response to the tragic development, Olu of Megida, Oba-Elect Abdul Azeez Adegboyega Olaleye  Salam, visited the scene and expressed deep concern over the growing threat of ritual-related crimes infiltrating community spaces.

Addressing local reporters and residents who gathered at the scene, the Oba-Elect did not mince words in condemning the vicious act, describing  it as a ”vile desecration of human life and a direct affront to the peace and moral fabric of Megida land.”

No life deserves to be cut short in such a brutal and barbaric manner. As a royal authority soon to be fully enthroned, I will not fold my arms while criminal elements hide under the cloak of darkness to desecrate our land,” Oba-Elect Olaleye  Salam declared.

He further vowed to champion the immediate enforcement of strict security protocols across all hotels and guesthouses within his royal jurisdiction.

The Hotel Caught in the
”Brew of the Storm”

We must begin to see security as a shared community responsibility. Every hotel operator must now implement mandatory guest registration with verifiable identification. Surveillance systems must be upgraded, and suspicious behaviour reported instantly to local authorities,” he added.

Citing the ancient Yoruba principle of Ile la n tin ko eso re ode”(charity begins at home), the Oba-Elect emphasized that no community can flourish in the absence of law, order, and moral discipline.

The disturbing incident has sparked fresh debates around hotel safety, guest screening, and community policing. The monarch is now calling for a joint task force between the LCDA, hotel association, and local vigilante networks to ensure routine security audits of hospitality establishments.

Every room in a hospitality business must have panic alert systems .Guest details must be electronically stored and crosschecked with law enforcement databases. The era of anonymity in hotel lodgings must end,”

Meanwhile, one of the key suspects have been apprehended by the hotel management staff, who attempted to flee the premises shortly after  committing the crime. He remains in custody as investigation continue.

This tragic event serves as a grim wake up call, not just for the people of Megida but for communities across Lagos. As the Olu of Megida Ajerogun Kingdom, Oba-Elect Abdul Azeez Adegboyega Salam Olaleye rightly noted, ”We must protect our women, our youth, and our land by ensuring that evil finds no sanctuary in our midst.”

As at the time of filing this report, the chairman elect Hon.Abiodun Lukman Agbaje accompanied by his security detail were present with the Oba Elect And Olu of Megida, HRM Abdul Azeez Adegboyega Salam Olaleye at the crime scene.
