In what has been described as a significant step towards grassroots development and political consolidation, the Chairmanship Candidate for Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA, Hon. Lukman Abiodun Agbaje, alongside his running mate, Otunba Oladipupo Oluwaloni, officially received the party’s flag from the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the high-profile event held at Marina House, Lagos , on Tuesday ,June 24, 2025.

The gathering , which could be tagged as ” 57 United for Greater Lagos” was hosted by Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and convened by the Lagos state party chairman,Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi to formally present APC flags to all 57 Local Government and Local Council Development Area (LCDA) for Chairmanship and Councillorship candidates.

Addressing the sea of party loyalists, political leaders, and candidates in attendance, Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized the need for cohesion, discipline, and result-driven governance at the local level. He charged candidates to uphold the party’s legacy of performance, transparency, and service delivery.

”We are not just handing out flags,” the Governor said, ”We are handing out responsibility, the sacred duty to serve the people with truth, courage, and action,”
For Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA, the moment was especially profound. Hon. Lukman Agbaje known across the jurisdiction as ”Ijoba Irorun” , and his energetic running mate, Otunba Oladipupo Oluwaloni (OLO) symbolically accepter the APC Flag, a seal of the people’s trust and the party’s confidence in their capability.
As the countdown to the July 12,2025 Local Government Elections begins, political analysts are calling for unity within party structures and among constituents. The need for a unified political front has become more pressing, especially in a diverse and highly populated LCDA like Ayobo- Ipaja.
Political philosopher and grassroots strategist, Mr Olatunde Ajibesin speaking on the sidelines of the Marina event, noted:
”The success of any democratic process at the local level depends not just on the popularity of candidates, but on the power of unity. Fragmented loyalties weaken community growth. We must speak with one voice if we seek real change.” This he acknowledged.
In Ayobo-Ipaja, Hon.Agbaje’s campaign has been built on this philosophy of inclusive governance and continuity, promising to consolidate the gains of the past administration while ushering in new innovations in youth empowerment, infrastructural development, education, and health services.
The Road to IJOBA IRORUN 2025
With the flag now in hand and the campaign trail heating up, the APC family in Ayobo-Ipaja is gearing towards an electrifying push for the polls. Branded as ” IJOBA IRORUN” 2025”(Government of Ease), the team of Agbaje and Oluwaloni has promised to bring real-time solutions to local challenges.
Speaking after the Flag Presentation, Hon.Agbaje remarked: ”
” We accept this mandate with humility and a deep sense of duty.Together with my brother and partner, Otunba Oluwaloni, we shall not only fly this flag but we also lift our people.Ayobo-Ipaja deserves the best, and we are ready to give it our all.”
As July 12 draws near, the streets of Ayobo-Ipaja are expected to swell with political energy, community engagements, and a renewed hope for continuity and development.
For the APC in Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA, the good work has just begun.
