48HOURS TO AUGUST PROTEST: TENSION MOUNTS AT LAGOS ISLAND MARKETS, AS VAN CARRYING PUBLIC ADDRESS SPEAKERS SEEN WARNING IGBO TRADERS ON GRIEVOUS CONSEQUENCES.(WATCH VIRAL FOOTAGE)

Tension has already started to build up in the hearts of Lagos island on the purported  nationwide protest coming up on the 1st of August 2024, This perturbing affair has significantly brewed bad blood between indigent residents who live within the Market Vicinity pitching their tent against Igbo traders who conduct their business activities.

In a recorded video footage can be seen a mini van in the middle of the busy market moving with attached public address speakers on top of the vehicle while some group of individuals were seen accosting the van by the side, dishing out threats to the traders who were caught spell bound by the sudden impromptu announcement that followed from the emerging van in sight.

According to a passerby who can be heard talking at the background expressed utmost dismay and shock as he overheard the occupants in the bus issuing threatening words to some Igbo traders who stood in front of their market stalls looking somewhat speechless.

In a Separate Development the Ohaneze Ndigbo Organisation A Pan Igbo Socio Cultural Group Has Already Distanced Itself And Equally Warned it’s Members not to be found taking active participation n the planned protest or vouch in support as a volunteer to be used as a tool for disrupting  peace and public order.

Meanwhile the federal government in it’s pledge to heed to the yearnings of the people has put in place swift intervention with the setting up of various centres for distribution of food commodities such as bags of rice at affordable price for Nigerians across the the Thirty-Six States Of The Federation, This move is believed handy and it will to a large extent curtail the burgeoning shylock market Practices as obtainable amongst food merchants who indulge in placing exorbitant prices making it cumbersome and adversely out of the reach of common folks.
