AUGUST 1: SANWO -OLU BROKER’S ENGAGES CIVIL SOCIETY, STAKEHOLDERS ON WAY OUT OF PLANNED PROTEST.

As the wave of the much anticipated protest caves in ,The Governor Of Lagos State His Excellency Babajide Sanwo-Olu Yesterday At Alausa. Lagos State,  During A Close Door Meeting With Stakeholders and  Civil Societies Organisations remonstrate the importance of exploring dialogue with peaceful negotiations with authorities as Government is an interface for public opinion and constructive feedback..

He Added That Instead Of Embarking On The Planned Protest Which From All Indications Is Prone To Destruction And Violence .Nigerian Youths Must Learn to Eschew From Such Indulgence Which It’s Resultant Effect After Damage Cannot Be Equated To Wastage Of Innocent Souls, Brazen Looting Spree And Vandalization of Properties to State a few.

‘I Emphasize That The State Government Fully Recognize And Respect Citizens right to express themselves. However Such Expressions must be Conducted Within the Bounds Of The Law. It is essential that we maintain order and peace especially considering The Potential For Unrest.

I Therefore Appeal To The Civil Society Organisations To Ensure That They Take Cognitive Steps On How To Embark On A Coordinated Protest Rally devoid of orderly conduct, The Memory Of Wanton Destruction That Greeted The ENDSARS Protest Is Still Reminiscent In Our Midsts While I firmly Resolve As The Chief Security Officer Of The State Never To Create A Repeat Of Such Incidents, Governor Babajide Concluded.
