Saturday 12th of October 2024 would always be a day to reflect on for Members of The Prestigious AR’OBAYO ROYAL LADIES CLUB OF ITIRE When They Commemorated Their One Year Anniversary And Official Launching in Grand Style, The Event Which had in attendance, His Royal Highness OBA Tajudeen Ishola Odubiyi ( ODUNBURU II) The Onitire Of Itire Land,Distinguished Special Adviser To Lagos Governor on Internal Audit, Dr Mrs Oyeyemi Ayoola, The Ajiroba of Itire land, Chief Stanley Da-Silva, Chairmanship Aspirant Of Mushin Local Government, Hon.Abiola Okeowo.Adeoye, The Akogun of Itire Land, Chief Idowu Irawo. Among other Dignitaries And Invited Guests.
In the Opening Speech of the Secretary for The Royal ladies club,Mrs Oyindamola Bolasodun who gave a detailed account on how the Club came into inception had this to say;
‘We started on the 10th of October 2023, that was when our royal father was about to celebrate his one year anniversary on the throne. That’s how we came together as young ladies with like minds and were passionate about fostering developmental strides in the itire community.’
‘Fortunately, God gave us our Father, the Kabieyesi who ascended the throne and was of immense support to the early formative period of Arobayo social club, we felt its was a good opportunity for us to pull our collective resources together, noting that of finance wise and more important was that of ensuring total commitment in the area of making out time for physical attendance as regards holding meetings on tentative periods, because assigning the directive for every member to be present at every meetings,was mandatory for the progress of our forum.’
To God be the Glory we had the first Anniversary of the king, it was fantastic, we were well represented by our members and it turned out well in flying colours, shortly after that in December we had our children’s party and I am quite sure it was one spectacular event to behold, the children were happy as we hosted over three hundred of them in attendance, we organized games, brought in bouncing castles and also gave out gifts.
In the areas of community services, we marked out a day to go on environmental sanitation exercise where specific refuse dump sites and drainages within Itire community was thoroughly evacuated, because we found out that some of our people partake in the act of indiscriminate littering of dirts on the roads thereby creating an unhygienic atmosphere where airborne diseases and all sorts of health related viruses can easily be contacted due to such environmental hazards, reasons we took upon ourselves to embark on the clean up awareness initiative.
Speaking Further on the first year anniversary of the club was the President, Princess Kuburat Odubiyi Fatai who couldn’t contain her excitement as she remarked ‘Today is a day of joy, while I must admit that this last one year has been like we’ve been together for ten years and we thank God for his mercies, more important for achieving a successful milestone in the course of our coming together to float the Club.
When asked about what prompted the idea of AR’OBAYO Royal Ladies Club, The Royal Princess opined ‘ I felt a lot of things were meant to happen in our community so I had to talk to some of my friends,as they were ladies who I knew had same intentions and like minds, so it wasn’t a problem in convincing them about the vision,so we decided to come together to start the group because of our willingness to give back to the society, and as you can see we have achieved a lot of our goals and still bent on doing more for Itire community by The Special Grace of God.
The President wrapped up the interview with our correspondent reporter by adding a word of advice to charge the younger generations especially, female folks to strive to engage in productive and meaningful endeavours that would add value to their lives, while eventually at the long run rub off on their immediate environment, stressing the need to believe in themselves as the sky is not only their limit but a stepping stone’.
One of the Major Highlights of The Event Was The Investiture Of A Leading Personality, And Special Adviser To The Governor of Lagos State On Internal Audit, Dr Mrs Oyeyemi Ayoola As The Matron of AR’OBAYO Royal Ladies Club.
Speaking on her conferment by the group, Dr Ayoola remarked that ‘Well these young ladies were born, and schooled in Itire ,further more they are now presently working at different levels all over the world, The Fact that they came together to form up a Club like an NGO that will give back to the society, being a model to the Girl-Child to know there is no end to their aspiration. Some of them are bankers, entrepreneurs in different fields and are ready to give back to the society, While I am here to support them since they look up to me as a source of inspiration,and I want to commend their effort for choosing me as The Matron of AR’OBAYO Royal Ladies Club.
Dr Oyeyemi Ayoola spoke passionately about a somewhat disturbing and negative trend attributed to women in particular with regards to the ‘Pull them Down Syndrome’ noting that such antics negates the incentive for women to be unified but rather exposes them to outright division, a case study she decried not to be found with male counterparts, who rally amongst themselves at any given cause for support and moral encouragement, she therefore appealed to All Women to nip these alarming phenomenon in the bud as they stand better chances to rise together as progressives,stating the potentials of their collective strength when they co-habit , not only as a formidable power bloc but more indignantly a force to be reckoned with.
On her parting words to the group,The Special Adviser Genuflected ‘They Should Keep Up The Good Work And Form A Stronger Bond By Being In Unity, Love themselves And their Community As Well, As Such Traits Will Propel Them For Greater Heights As A Club.
The Memorable Anniversary Event which featured Auctioning bazaar and most of all was that of an award giving segment to honour selected Illustrious Stakeholders who deserved recognition going by their corporate backgrounds with sterling contributions to the growth and development of Itire community, Part of the Recipients That Graced The Occasion Is A Front line Youth Aspirant Contesting The Position For Chairman Mushin Local Government, Hon.Abiola .Okeowo. Adeoye Fondly called ‘ALAMALA’ within Political Circles, was Formally presented an Award of Appreciation For Outstanding Contribution In Human Capacity Development.
Hon. Abiola Okeowo Who was full of praises to the AR’OBAYO Ladies Group, expressed immense gratitude to them for the Award received, adding how such recognition will go a long way in bolstering his focus towards initiating capacity development programs that will liberate docile youths by transforming them to solution providers in order to reduce the dearth of man power in critical sectors that contribute to Grassroot Economy of Itire community if given their full support to emerge as the Chairmanship candidate of the All Progressives Congress Party in Mushin LGA at large.
According To Him’These are the kind of forum we need to encourage, seeing vibrant ladies who have took the bull by the horn despite their hectic work schedules coupled with the pressure of managing their homes as dutiful spouse’s, yet they create time to join in the process of Nation Building by contributing their own quota from the base of their community which is the grassroots .it goes to show the powerful role that women bring to our society, unlike some of their gender who engage in frivolous immoralities, the AR’OBAYO Ladies have distinguished themselves as women of substance not only to the general perception of the guests and important dignitaries at this receptive gathering but have etched indelible marks as pride of their husbands because of the civic task and magnanimous responsibility they shoulder.
The Grandiose Event Marked A Turning Point In The Social Almanac of The Group As It was a testimony of painstaking dedication, sisterly bond and pertinent is the resolution to change the narratives of the Itire socio-economic developmental strides Vis A Vis an array of piloted community social works aimed at impacting the younger generations by exploring their full blown potentials as promising Ambassadors of Itire via their proactive advocacy for optimal driven human resources in the coming years
