My name is Olufemi OniSarotu,My advent into shomolu politics began in my earlier days having served my party meriotously at ward level as an exco member, from there I also served as Two-Time Councilor for Ward B.
In the history of Shomolu Local Government, My Antecedents speaks in volumes, is it on areas of empowerment? It is on records that during my time in office as councilor, I was able to facilitate start up equipment kits for several recipients of vocational and Technical Support related skills such as Sewing Machines, Motorcycles, Grinding Machines, Vulcanizer Air Pump Machines amongst others.
On a major note for coming in to the Race, I Want to Pontificate Why it cannot happen more than a better timing, this is an individual Who has bagged two Master Degrees based on his intimidating academic profile and background, with vast experience as of our party and equivocally when it comes to public administrative criteria for delivering good governance.
My Agenda is solidly built on A Tripartite Vision as I unveil my political manifesto and ambition, First of All, I Am Deeply Committed To Effect The Restoration Of Pipe borne water supply facility throughout Shomolu Environs, This is being done in order to combat the scarcity of drinkable water for our teeming electorates while curtailing the spread of contagious bacteria’s such as cholera out-break, typhoid fever, and other forms of water transmitted diseases which portends Health Risks To Humanity, We used to have this particular facility (pipe borne water) at Fadeyi in the past but unfortunately it has ceased to function anymore thereby declared moribund, But I Promise To Revamp this community project on my assumption of office as the incoming Chairman of the Council.
Secondly, Because of my influence outside the shores of the Country, I Have The Privilege of using my influence and social links to attract Three foreign direct investmentors from the corporate world in the Diaspora and are ready to commence on The IPP (Independent Power Project) which will have tremendous boost on rural electrification for all our various communities and businesses within the jurisdiction of entire Shomolu as reiterated.
Number Three, Throughout my stay in the United States, There is a significant Health Policy Which I was Opportune To Have Witnessed Its Peculiar Holistic Framework which I would adopt or replicate in our Existing Primary Health Care System For Expectant Mothers Right From Their Antenatal To Delivery And Post Maternal Cycle When nursing their babies from early infant hood to a toddler age of Three years in view.
‘I can state emphatically that the outlined 3 point agenda has never been done in the history of Shomolu local government, most especially the Health care program I coined ‘Women, Infant And Children, If you are a woman or a Lady residing in Shomolu, And You’ve done your antenatal registration, you are eligible to a stipend which will run continually till point of delivery and stops when your baby or child is three years old’, The Two Time Councilor remarked.
People will ask me how do I go about this Herculean Task?Let me say i distribute financial grants of 25 thousand naira to One Thousand People,approximately that’s 25miliion,.But am very sure there’s no way we will record a thousand births of new born babies in a year within Shomolu so in essence what is deduced from these analysis is that 25 million naira if budgeted for this kind of purpose for our nursing mothers is not too small.
Also there is going to be data collation software for Pharmacies and Various primary health centres, private hospitals across our local government, that will facilitate prompt response during emergencies which will be linked to direct the council for accessing our robust healthcare program and its benefits.
Another area that am going to work on is that of curbing indiscriminate refuse dump sites and other environmental infractions by residents, I shall set up a monitoring committee to make sure they conduct routinely inspection of drainages and report offenders caught flouting the order by law.
As a certified trained civil engineer by profession, speaking of building social infrastructures pose’s no big challenge,As I will introduce an all inclusive community project works committee, whereby All our roads, drainages would be done by our youths while they all get paid, it will be an all inclusive affair. So in doing this everyone will be integrated into my outlined people oriented vision and policies for a greater Shomolu local government for all. I have the experience, and want to assure the people of my readiness to serve them to the best of my capability, and their support will go a long way in consolidating my aspirations for the great task at hand..And i wish the electorates will appreciate my candidacy as their most preferred choice to weild the mantle of leadership As Next Executive Chairman Shomolu Local Government, Once Again.
