In a rare Display of professionalism with technical dexterity by the Divisional Police Officer, Ayobo Police Station Who was invited as special Guest to deliver a keynote lecture on Community Policing and challenges on Security at the just concluded one day Annual General Meeting and First year anniversary of the incumbent Executive Committee For Agbajowonife CDA located along the Olayemi-Igesu Corridor Leading to other adjoining communities stretching as far to ishefun- olorunishola axis under Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA.
The DPO Who was ably represented by SP Ayodele James took the entire stakeholders and attendees of the meeting on a step by step interactive workshop dissecting the topic ‘SECURITY, SAFETY CONSCIOUSNESS AND CONCEPTION OF RESOLVING CONFLICTS THROUGH PEACEFUL MEANS IN OUR COMMUNITY’, Where He Narrowed Down The Intricate And The Analytical Phases of The Core Fundamental Stages Required Towards Securing A Community
‘Many issues which is expected to be solved internally by either the husband and wife, the landlord and tenants, peacefully by a constituted authority such as the Baale or CDA.’
‘Most time those expected are biased, which implies that the strategy of such person is wrong unless we approach every issue/conflict with the right strategy without taken side, how can we achieve this aim in order to get our goal which is PEACE’.
‘Every peaceful community is a reflex of maintenance of law and order which shows that people living in such community have subjected themselves to be under the law.this is how we come about community policing.’
‘The purpose of community Community Policing is having easy and prompt response to any act that can cause breach of the peace without much stress in a way of expression, relating and identification of offender in the community’.
Going further in clarifying the general misconception attached to Community Policing he emphasized by stating ‘Community Policing is not only for the police, it is the relationship between the police and member of the community with the view to protect lives and properties with the cooperation of the people living in the community, while providing veritable information meant to effect the enforcement of the law.’
‘It is now left for the community to cooperate and support the government of the state by giving prompt information that will help the enforcement agencies in the discharge of their lawful duties.’
There are 5 major approaches to conflict management and the solutions they are most appropriate for.
(1)Accommodation: This is a lose/win situation
(2)Compromise: In compromising everybody is partially assertive and cooperative, everyone gives up a little bit of what and no one gets everything they want
(3)Avoidance: This method involves simply ignoring that there may be a conflict.
(4) Competition: This is unco-operative, overly assertive method used by people who insist on winning the dispute at all cost.
(5)Collaboration: People are both assertive and co-operative
While Stressing that for the enhancement of an effective community policing the following highlights was noted which include
(1) prompt reporting of any crime or act that is against peace of area
(2)Sincere and friendly response to assist the Police and other security outfits.
If all communities faithfully work hard in hand with the Police and other sister agencies, every community in the state will surely be at peace because their assistance to one inadvertently is an assistance to all, and this will go a long way to help all the securities with the said community to be close to the grassroots, Thereby resolving conflict always is peaceful, destructive actions could be avoided.

For those who might have a particular preference with vocational skills acquisition, we also have the Digital Literacy Program For Them To Pursue And Learn Coding Program And Become A Soft Ware Developer Or Application Content Programmer.We will guide them on how to use these IT Skills to make Money Online.These And Other Vital Areas of self Enlightenment And Social Development Is What We At The Helms Of Agbajowanife CDA is charged to deliver before the expiration of our two year tenure.

The Welfare /Security Official Mr Ajakaiye who was full of praises to God For his unwavering protection, showers of agape love that has woven the entire community altogether in an atmosphere dominated with peaceful cohabitation and dwelling.The Security Measures we undertook has paid off coupled with a well organised round the clock signal control by the contractual security firm, we have curtailed unnecessary loitering within the community especially all these scrap vendors and trolley scavengers , This are the real small time petty thieves and criminals who break into the private dwellings of unsuspecting residents while carting away valuables and properties ranging from generators to pump machines and general house appliances kept outside.
‘We have been able to curb the entire neighborhood of incessant robbery, brigandary, breaking and entry related cases that used to be prevalent in the past but thank God fast forward to our present day, such ugly incidents has since be nipped in the bud with my coming on board as the Security officer of the CDA while by extending the credits to the valuable strategic ideas contributed by members of the CDA security committee who have made sure that safety of the entire residents in our neighborhood remains germaine and sacrosanct.

The Youth leader of the CDA (Agbajowanife) who was also a recipient and Awardee of The Community’s AGM Program &Award Ceremony, Mr Opeolu Oluwole took time out to reflect on the objectives of the CDA And That Of His Official Assigned Numerous Task ‘ Our Aims First and foremost Is To work hand in hand with the security committee and law enforcement agencies with recourse to the protection of businesses with that of residents at large. Secondly is to flush out bad elements such as cultism in the community, we want to totally eradicate all negative vices entirely. Meanwhile as the youth leader, there are certain programs coming up as the year progress by, such as empowerment trainings and workshop seminars for our youths, in addition to sports related recreational activities are not left out for those of us who engage in one form of sports, we have an array of tournaments and competitions to engage them respectively, we also made adequate reservations for the integration of our friends who must have finished their service as ex corpers who should not feel bored at home due to the rigours of finding gainful employment presently. We have special program that will see to their training for start up business on Small Medium Enterprise (SMEs) These are just a bit of our plans and we also appreciate our CDA for always rallying to our cause whenever the need beckons on them as our supportive elders and fathers, we can’t forget our end of the year party celebration which of course receive the full endorsement of the CDA who donate generously to the successful hosting of the event with cash and gifts.
