The European Union (EU) Ambassador To Nigeria And ECOWAS, Samuel Isopi on Wednesday visited the Igando Transit Centre, in Lagos State.
The Centre is part of the EU-IOM joint initiative programme in Nigeria, through a trilateral Engagement with Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA ) and the National Commission For Refugees, Migrants And Internally Displaced Persons ( NCFRMI) , The Centre was Commissioned on November 11,2021.
Through Support from the EU, Voluntary Migrants get temporary accommodation, psychosocial (Counseling) and Economic Support to reintegrate them into the Society.
The Ambassador in Company of the Belgian Ambassador To Nigeria Pieter Leenknegt, The Senior Programme Coordinator and Head Of IOM Lagos Sub-Office , Victor Lutence, and other EU and IOM Officers, took a tour of the Facility’s Sections.
Including the Staff offices, Dormitories, Clinics, Children Play Area,Among others.
