The United States Court of the District of Columbia has refused a request by one Aaron Greenspan seeking to compel US Security Agencies to promptly release Information, including documents to him about President Bola Tinubu.
Judge Beryl A.Howell, in a ruling on Monday declined Greenspan’s request on the gtoundshe failed to satisfy relevant conditions for the grant of such prayer contained in a motion for emergency hearing, which he filed on Monday. Greenspan had filed the emergency motion seeking to compel the executive office for US Attorney (EQUSA),The Department of State, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Internal Revenue Service, Drug Enforcement Administration and the Central Intelligence Agency to immediately release of the document in view of yesterday’s hearing of appeals by Atiku, Obi by the Supreme Court.
He pleaded for a quick release of the document as, according to him, they were needed to be presented at the Supreme Court. Greenspan told the US Court that the Supreme Court deliberately moved the hearing of the appeals by Atiku and Obi to yesterday to render his suit before the US Court nugatory. He had asked that the documents on Tinubu be released to him latest October 31.
In the Civil Suit with number :23-1816 Greenspan is also asking for similar Information and documents on Mueez Adegboyega Akande, Who is said to have died as of November 16,2022. In rejecting his motion for immediate release of the documents, The US Court said Greenspan failed to convince the Court, The Public issues that will cause it to overlook the privacy rights of President Tinubu.
Meanwhile, President Tinubu lawyers have Filed a motion at the Court seeking to be allowed to defend the President in the Suit. It will be recalled that An IT Consultant, Aaron Greenspan on July 21,2022 filed a Freedom of information request asking the Country’s agencies to release Tinubu’s records.
Greenspan Filed an emergency motion seeking the release of records related to his residence in the Country. Tinubu argued that the ” FOIA” ( Freedom of information Act) purpose is to provide access to government’s activities, not as a means to obtain records of individuals compiled by the government. The defendants in the Suit are the Executive Officer For us Attorneys, The Central Intelligence Agency ( CIA), U S Department of the Treasury, Internal Revenue Service, and the US Drug Enforcement Administration. President Tinubu Filed an Application before the Court to stop the country’s agencies from Releasing records related to his stay of residence in the Country
