LG News Academy will be hosting the First National Summit on Financial Transparency And Accountability as a prerequisite for development and growth in the Third tier of Government.
The Summit Which is Strategically Organised For the 774 local government councils in Nigeria and will be executed in partnership with the Nigeria Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) and other Federal Financial Regulatory Agencies. This is aimed at bringing cohesion, collaborating and setting developmental standards across the 774 councils of the Country. This will also promote transparency and accountability in extending public funds at the third Tier of Government.
The National Summit aptly aligns with the present administration central objective of Renewal of Hope for Nigerians and will be holding on March 24th 2024 in Abuja the federal Capital Territory.According To The MD/CEO , Mr Tunde Jakande . LGNA have over the years hosted study tours in South Africa,Dubai and Dublin, With an Impressive Attendance of Over a hundred and twenty Public Officials in view for the overseas programmes.
It is also having another round of International seminar slated to kick off in Brussels, Dublin,Qatar, and New York by the year 2024 respectively. Recently LG News Academy Celebrated it’s 14th year Anniversary which featured Christmas Carol Presentations From the Lagos State Fire And Rescue Service and the Public Service Staff Development Centre (PSSDC) Made the event a wonderful and memorable one. Highlights of the 14th year anniversary included the unveiling of the New LGNA International logo, Presentation of Public Lecture and Lastly Award giving ceremony which had in Attendance over a hundred guests.
Also this year LG News Academy hosted an Interactive Session on Effective Leadership With the Ambassador of Ireland in Nigeria. His Excellency Peter Ryan, about fifty public officials attended the workshop event at Radisson Blu Hotel. The News Academy which is noted for Organizing impactful Seminars &Workshops with emphasis on excellence in public administration and good governance extended it’s scope of activity with the addition of All Public Primary Schools Debate Competition to it’s list of events as a total of 1017 primary schools participated. The debate event was held in Collaboration with the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board SUBEB And the Embassy of Ireland In Nigeria.
Remarkably, LG News also had series of seminars outlined yo engage the youths , These epochal making seminar which is tagged” Leadership Development Values (LDV) was set up to integrate young people on areas of entrepreneurship training and help modify their mindset in line with the importance of Inculcating Values necessary for criterion akin to building leadership qualities.
