Residents Of Akin- Odewole Street, located in Koloba/Bada Rd. Megida. Ayobo Have Called On Lagos State Government To Come To their Aid And Timely Rescue As The Impact of These Years Rains Has Turned Out To be More Of An Environmental challenge with incessant perennial flood to the aforementioned community in view.

According to One Mrs Folashade, A Residing Housewife living in the affected community Spoke To Ayobo/IpajaTV Press Crew on how her husband moved the family in to the area without knowing about the water logged conditions ravaging the said street some years ago. ” It came to us as a shock when the rains started pouring and almost the entire street was submerged in an unprecedented flood, and ever since these has been the fate of most of the residents here during the rainy seasons over time”

Speaking further She narrated how a group of individuals in the street came together to assist by renting machine to pump out the large mass of water to the adjoining Koloba road, these caught her Attention and got her interested in joining them. Later Her Husband At A Different Period Also Rendered The Community Personal Support of Providing An Excavator When there was a resolution by Stakeholders to dig a drainage and Channel the flood by linking with other street drainages but instead some of the people misconstrued their actions and decided to bring ill reports to the Community Head ,(Baale Of Bada) on the fear of dislodgement of the Flood into their streets, of course these allegations how weighty, made the Community Chief to wade into the ensuing debacle among the extended community and ordered that the digging exercise to be stopped.

Another Resident Who pleaded anonymity, called out to the Authorities in charge to come to the aid of the affected Street and the community, adding that despite the interventionary efforts of the Youths Who took it upon themselves to organize rapid response volunteer community social engagements, as they dugged out sand filled drainages to create easy flow of stagnated currents of water on the long stretched Koloba/Bada Road to the awaiting carnal linking neighbouring communities via Sabo road to Ishefun.

Mr Akin Odewole, A Resident of the Affected Street When Contacted To Shield More Light on The Travails of the Inhabitants living in the Flood Prone Community revealed how they as a body including other concerned stakeholders had on several occasions lodged reports at the Ayobo/Ipaja LCDA but they never got any response, also the efforts of the CDA towards finding constant solutions to the flood was highly commendable but he decried governments’s assistance as a major lapses in the fight to rid the area of these perennial occurrence.

Part of the Areas Affected Along the mentioned Akin Odewole Street Include Taiwo Ojomo, Ojetoye Streets and Unity Road respectively..The Entire Resident Stakeholders, earnestly convey this special appeal on humanitarian grounds to the Current Chairman Of Ayobo/Ipaja LCDA, His Excellency Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu of Lagos State and by extension to The Honourable Minister For Humanitarian Affairs, Dr Betty Edu to beam their search light on the grey areas listed for urgent and quick intervention as the people have no other source or alternative Than to Prevail On the Authorities of the Day.
