COURT GRANTS EMEFIELE BAIL

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has Finally produced the Former Governor of the Central Bank Of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele in Court For the Hearing of his bail application,Mr Emefiele has been in custody of security agencies for over 154 days .

Justice Olukayode Adeniyi of the Federal High Court Abuja had ordered for his unconditional release or be brought to hear his application for bail today. The former CBN Governor arrived at the Court room at about 12:30 pmcladded in a yellow babaringa outfit with an Hausa red cap to match in the midst of EFCC operatives providing intense security escort around him. Friends and relatives had besieged the Court premises waiting for the arrival of the Judge for a hearing in his fundamental human rights suit.

Justice Adeniyi had on Monday reaffirmed his order that the detained Former CBN Governor be produced in the Court today November 8 for the purpose of Admitting him to bail. He had in the alternative directed the anti graft agency to on it’s own grant bail to Emefiele or allow the Court do so in line with provisions of the law on Fundamental Human Rights.
